Backdraft & Beat Bazaar Live performing at the Decibel Performing arts showcase Manchester UK 15-18th of September.

Backdraft & Beat Bazaar Live have been selected from thousands of artists around the country to perform at the UKs premier performing arts showcase organised by the Arts Council England. Taking place on the 15th of September at the Contact Theatre, the showcase will combine the Backdraft sound with innovative visuals and animation. Mancunian production duo Backdraft are well known for creating innovative music with an explosive edge. Their sound is as ferocious as fire mixed with fresh air and other combustible energy. Following some impressive successes on the international dance music scene with singles sales in the region of 60000, Backdraft have embarked on a debut album, which is destined to entice all those who like to dance, regardless of what genre they may be into. This time they have also gathered an eclectic collective of highly talented vocalists from Manchester and beyond. Veba is an Incredibly talented singer songwriter from Mancunia who has been blessed with a voice of a goddess and has an unrivalled ability to captivate your heart and soul with her intoxicating vocals and sincere cosmic energy. Highly acclaimed for her mind-blowing performances with Groove Armada, Veba has recently embarked on a world tour with her band and mesmerised audiences at sell-out festivals & concerts around the world . EBERE

Hailing from Mancheste Manchester, Ebere's tantalising vocals will seduce your senses and energise your minds. Michele Udogo aka Ebere started her singing career freestyling at Clubs and parties in 1999 and has since been involved with an exciting array of musical projects. This rootsy lady frequently immerses herself in Nigerian and Cuban Orisha influences and has collaborated with bands such as Speakeasy and River Niger Band at the festival de Senigallia.. She has also supported Public Enemy with her band 2FlyOverload and was also part of the Gorillaz Live showcase. Michelle claims her unique and soulful vocals are a result of her maintaining an open mind in the experimentation of music. She frequently travels across the oceans to explore and nurture her musical inspirations, more recently collaborating with perimentation Brazilian Dubstep soundsystem "Minsterio Publico" and Batalha Afrobeat. more about Ebere

TRACEY ELIZABETH

Dangerously sultry, seductive and feisty to the core, Tracey Elizabeth is an artist who injects energy and passion into all her musical works. Hailing from Liverpool and drawn to Manchester, this alluring creative artist has performed with 3 bands namely Stalker with Andy Boothman, recording an EP called Unbalanced (Sankeys Doap Record); My Mate Mark with Mark Atherton (Urbanite Records) and Tremble with Glenn releasing an album Ballroom Blues (Sharp Exceptional/ Different records) She has written songs for Rae & Christian, Veba and Rico on Grand Central Records. She also wrote and sang Hazelwood with Andy Votel on his All ten fingers album. High on artistic prowess Tracey likes to explore the depths of the human psyche with theatre and film productions, such as Page 13 which is about growing up being watched on camera 24/7 AND The Tale of Tristy's Love which is about a female serial killers search for love. I like to write dark tales of sex and murder, usually with a sense of humour. I love creating lil stories in my head and visualising them. MR FOX

The fantastic Mr Fox is a multitalented MC, singer & songwriter who is blessed with a unique charisma and a deep rooted artistic flair. Born in Manchester brought up in Kingston, J.A, and back n forth between New York and Miami, Fox has gas gained a wealth of musical influences from around the planet. Versatile in style and delivery, Foxy's musical works span across the genres, ranging from Dubstep, Jungle, Jazz, to Reggae and Hip Hop. Mr Fox writes with passion and conviction and his thought rhymes are always full of intellect and irony. His high energy performances and entertaining stage presence must be witnessed. Mr Fox was one of the founding members of Subliminal Darkness, a Manchester hip hop collective who performed with the likes of Jurassic 5, Company Flo, King Rib and Fun Lovin Criminalz to name a few,. He has also created the Spitfya Camp's a means to focus on the music as opposed to the ego . Anthony Crook

Originating from Newcastle but residing in London, Anthony is a singer songwriter who has been in many bands. After a couple of small label releases and many months touring the corners of UK and Europe by pure chance Anthony hooked up with a Mo Wax producer and personal luminary Ils. By the end of a long night of conversation inspired by music, Anthony had agreed to play guitar on whatever Ils was going to come up with next. What Ils did come up with next was Paranoid Peophets featuring 2 tracks co-written by Anthony, alongside his signature sweeping delayed guitars. The album went on to win Breaks Album of the Year 2008. Ils and Anthony were then asked to join their combined forces to release an updated and reworked version of Joy Division's Love Will tear Us Apart to celebrate the anniversary of Ian Curtis. Anthony suddenly found himself being approached to collaboarate in several guises on many projects influenced by the likes of Smashing Pumpkins, Mogwai and many more. Goldmouf

Stepping forward with a potent and unique style of rap this lyricist is simply uber cool. Born and rasied in Atlanta Decateur, Goldmouf has been deeply invoved in the mix tape culture, setting up his own independent company Chop'em down Inc. His ambition and hard work have earnt him a good repoirtoirse in the music scene. So far he has released 14 street mixtapes selling over 45000 units. He can be heard on countless mix cds from coast to coast. He has also appeared on TV showcs, Films and music videos as a budding actor. Goldmouf has worked with artists such as Miracle. Ghetto Mafia, Bishop of Crunk and Sporty-o. His style is vibrant, excitying and cheeky: powerful lyrical delivery laced with laid back rhymes. Southern MC, Sporty-O is living all his dreams. Neither too crunk nor too country, he represents the most well rounded Atlanta image in rap. Sporty-O started off life in College Park (a suburb south of Atlanta), where he juggled writing rhymes and being a high school baseball star. Influenced by a wide range of musical genres and artists from soulful R&B crooners Marvin Gaye and Al Green, to the artistic Pop styling of Prince and Michael Jackson to the inventive sounds of lyrical prowess of TuPac, Sporty-O music is a lethal combination of skill, wit and verve. more about Sporty-o

Dreadless & Solja

Renowned for being Pioneers of the northern mixtape culture Solja and Dreadless are skilful at twisting your mind with witty lyrics, sharp concepts and pure verbal charisma. Leaders of the northern grime movements, these talented emcees gained recognition as Raw-T in 2004 which led to their debut album ‘Realise and Witness’ Factory F4 Records. The group inspired the whole teenage population of Manchester, instigated crews to form and opened the doors for fellow emceed from the north to be heard. Both artists started off writing rhymes in the street of Old Trafford with fellow crew members. Solja

One of Manchester's most ambitious and hardworking young MCs, Solja has built a strong following around in the UK, impressing grime enthusiasts worldwide with countless mix-tapes and underground releases. The young DIY music entreprenuer has been writing grime and rap bars since the age 13 and has nurtured his own style of spitting, which is versatile and energised. He has produced his own music videos and has been broadcasting short films and documentaries to compliment his music. Solja has previously won the BBC performing arts academy award and is currently on the U Take Over Project delivered by BBC 1xtra. Cheekz

Living up to her name this young lady is the cheekiest female lyricist around, guaranteed to blow you away with her feisty lyrics and unforgettable performances. Born in Manchester, Cheekz has been involved with music from a very young age, visiting the studio regularly to lay down her vocals. She is also a highly skilled street dancer who was once part of the well known group Estrellas. She regularly teaches dance classes and has been managing two dance troups The Alleycatz and Lil Finesse. Cheekz is an incredible performer with an impressive style and bags of charisma. more about
