I grew up in a home filled with the voices of Nat King Cole, Jim Reeves, and Desmond Decker, Bob Marley and Chaka Khan. Thus it was no surprise that I became a DJ. With partner Tomlin ‘Bluenote’ McKinley we formed the Jam Mcs, we toured the UK, USA and Europe extensively, as well as running the cult Rave Blues in Hulme “The Kitchen” and also Konspiracy Nightclub a underground cavern comprising 5 rooms that was instrumental in developing the careers of many Dance Music DJ’s. Eight years later I met Segun Lee French, and with the backing of Green Room Director Garfield Allen, created Speakeasy which has evolved into one of Manchester’s most dynamic spoken word collectives. I have recorded music tracks such as the cult cut 2000 Blues (Rainy City Music) and Hungry Ghost (Grand Central Records). Mancunian way was recorded for a Hacienda compilation that was released in Japan, and whisper warm waves for Phuturistix album released last year. In 2009 I hit Manchesters open mic poetry circuit with a body of work that you can check out at theoriginalseed.podomatic.com. I also collaborated with Suhail Khan at the originalseed.wordpress.com/ a online presence for vocal gymnasts
