Rolling out of Spain with a dub/breaks cross over sound, Dub Elements really live up to their name. consisting of AC45 & Stuntman these two producers have had a string a high profile remixes within the breaks scene, and are set for big things across the next year.
Their first venture into the Hardcore Beats stable seems to have been a successful one. Kicking this ep off with a huge wobbly breaks tune chock full of serious mid range dinosaurs, off to battle intergalactic felines with lasers!
this to me is very reminiscent of some of the older Ctrl z and screwface tunes. Its nice to hear that people are filling their boots as they move off into pastures new.
ring the alarm! add the tinnitus, Future anthem brings up the b-side on this release, jumping all over the rave biznizz like a Mexican bean.
keeping the consistent theme of hard ripping mid range bass and relentless drums, this is certainly a big dancefloor track. It reminds me of some the CMD releases back in the golden era of breakbeat.
For a personal choice I would go with the Backdraft remix of Future anthem, which is also included in the package.
It is just a bit less frantic but retains all the nasty elements from the original. As always it has that trade mark backdraft sound which for many has become a benchmark of the new dub-breaks sound. This is less dinosaurs and more caveman, it’s taken the next step of evolution. but something still lurks deep within its forests and menacing predatory slowness that marches towards the shore like so many ocean tides
