Ottilia Ördög is a music entrepreneur based in Manchester, originally from Transylvania, whose experience ranges from artist management, promotion, TV and radio to event production. She has developed several successful music projects, starting with a drum n bass night Squiggle Dee Mash as a university student, to developing Gorse Hill Studios – an innovative youth music facility dedicated to young people. For the last 12 years Ottilia has taken a proactive role in developing Manchester’s rich urban music scene and her contributions are widely recognised. From music conferences to youth music showcases she has organised countless events providing a platform for new music and fresh talent to flourish.
Ottilia is a dedicated artist manager who has gained an honest reputation for nurturing and developing grass roots music talent. She has managed acts such as the teenage grime collective RAW-T and secured them a record deal from Factory Records music mogul Anthony Wilson. Through managing RAW-T, Ottilia has gained valuable experience and knowledge working with one of the most influential figures in Manchester’s musical heritage. She continues to nurture and develop young up and coming artists as well as more established artists. She provides artist development to several established DJs, producers, vocalists, MCs and bands around Manchester and is a natural at connecting people.
Ottilia’s hard work and determination led to her being nominated for theBBC Fame Academy Urban Music Bursary which she won in 2006. More recently, in 2009, she was one of the finalists in the British Council’sYoung British Entrepreneur Scheme for music.
Ottilia has been working with Backdraft for several years before embarking on a mission to establish the funky Beat Bazaar production company/ record label. The productive working relationship within the Beat Bazaar team has led to several mind blowing tunes and a debut album from the talented production duo,which is called WE KNOW WHERE YOU LIVE!
